Proclamations are provided by Washoe County to Residents with the goal of honoring and celebrating events or increasing awareness of noteworthy issues among Washoe County residents. These public service documents are strictly honorary and are not legally binding. Proclamation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The Washoe County Commission reserves the right to decline any request for a proclamation as well as the right to make exceptions to the guidelines and procedures for Proclamations. Any draft language submitted may be edited or revised at the discretion of Washoe County. No proclamation shall be used as part of an advertisement or commercial promotion without permission from the Washoe County Commission. Any use of the proclamation in a news release or other type of publication must be approved by the Washoe County Commission prior to publication.
